About Us
Yvette Fernandez is an award-winning veteran in the art of communication. A published author, Emmy Award® winning television reporter and filmmaker who has been finding interesting stories and telling them her entire career. With her extensive knowledge and experience, she founded THE Sound Bite Specialists to help "first responders" and "headliners" effectively communicate and navigate through the media maze.
Media Consultant: Ms. Fernandez has trained hundreds of law enforcement, firefighters and other public information officers how to communicate effectively in a crisis. She is a staff consultant for the prestigious California Specialized Training Institute. Ms. Fernandez has also authored Media Training curriculum for Homeland Security.
Television Reporter: Yvette has worked as an on-camera Reporter at local affiliates in Phoenix and Los Angeles as well as a contributing correspondent for NBC, ABC and CNN. She also hosted Public Affairs, News/Magazine Shows on Television and Radio Programs. She has won numerous National, Regional and Local awards, including: Emmy, National Association of Hispanic Journalists, Press Club and others.
Television and Radio Host: Yvette has experience hosting shows ranging from Investigative Reporting, Latino-themed, Interview/Magazine style shows as well as Community and Public Affairs Shows on both Television and Radio.
Writer/Producer/Director of “Native Wisdom”, a short form documentary and “Field Soldiers”, a full-length documentary currently in production.
She is the co-Author of “Dead Ringer—The Mob’s Colombian Connection”. A non-fiction book profiling the lives of three men deeply involved with the Colombian Drug Cartel, the “Mafia” and law enforcement.
A believer in “giving back” to the community, Ms. Fernandez was Founder of Non-Profit Organization: S.T.A.R.—a mentoring organization for high-school aged women. Ms. Fernandez was invited to testify before Congressional Subcommittee on Education.
Ms. Fernandez has remained involved in community service and advocacy organizations focusing on: Women and Latino Community issues.
